Professional Staff

Our staff is made up of highly educated and experienced professionals.  All audiologists maintain state licensure (Ohio) by staying current on new practices through accredited continuing education courses.

Our goal is to provide you the best possible hearing care, based upon your individual needs. We provide a comprehensive array of services related to prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of hearing impairment. These services include comprehensive hearing evaluations, specialized diagnostic testing (otoacoustic emission testing, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, auditory brain stem response testing, electrocochleography and vestibular evoked myogenic potentials) and recommendation and selection of innovative digital hearing aid technology and accesories.

Lisa Schaupp
M.A., CCC-A

Mrs. Schaupp attended Bowling Green State University and received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Speech and Hearing Therapy and a Master's degree in Audiology.  Upon graduation, she joined Toledo Audiology in 1986.  Since that time, she has experienced many changes in office location and professional and support staff.  While places and faces may change from time to time, we are proud that Lisa's is one face that has remained constant.

Mrs. Schaupp specializes in both pediatric and adult hearing diagnostics, along with advanced hearing aid and assistive device technology.  She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Mrs. Schaupp's husband, John, is a mechanical engineer who has a strong interest in alternative energy.  They have two children together, a dog, and a pet bird "Buddy."


Clint D. Keifer
Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Keifer is a U.S. Army veteran who served 2.5 years active duty as a tank crewman and 5.5 years (during his undergraduate education) for the Michigan Army National Guard as a sergeant and tank gunner/tank commander.  He graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Western Michigan University in 2003 and was named Presidential Scholar.  He received his Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from The Ohio State University in 2007.  Dr. Keifer and his wife, Laura, moved to the Toledo area in 2008 to be closer to family, at which time he joined Toledo Audiology.  Mrs. Keifer is an elementary teacher for Maumee Schools. 

Dr. Keifer's professional interests include electrophysiological tests (nerve and brainstem recordings), cochlear implants, amplification (hearing aids), and vestibular diagnostics (balance testing).   He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), and a member of the Ohio Academy of Audiology (OAA).


Jessica Noelle Bernath
Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Bernath joined Toledo Audiology in 2008 as a doctoral student extern.  Since graduating, she has become a full-time member of our team. Dr. Bernath grew up in NW Ohio and is a graduate of Evergreen High School. She recieved her bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Toledo in 2004 and her doctorate in audiology in 2009 from the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium (NOAC) in Akron.
Dr. Bernath's professional interests include vestibular (balance) testing, electrophysiology, and hearing amplification in the adult population. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the Ohio Academy of Audiology, and the American Speech and Hearing Association.
She currently lives in Toledo and enjoys listening to music, playing guitar, running, and playing with her beagle, Bailey Jane.


Christina Ashrafioun
Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Christina Ashrafioun is the newest member of the Toledo Audiology team. Dr. Ashrafioun comes from Rochester, NY, where she was born and raised. She graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo. Dr. Ashrafioun received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University at Buffalo. Prior to joining Toledo Audiology, Dr. Ashrafioun worked as a staff audiologist at the University of Rochester Medical Center where she served patients from birth to geriatric.

Dr. Ashrafioun’s professional interests include audiologic and vestibular (balance) diagnostic testing for both children and adults as well as providing rehabilitation through amplification (hearing aids). Other areas of interest include tinnitus assessment and management.

Dr. Ashrafioun resides in Perrysburg with her husband, Lee, and French bulldog, Lola.


Heather Balon
B.A.

Heather Balon joined Toledo Audiology in July of 2011 for a 1-year audiology doctoral externship.  She completed her B.A. at Calvin Collete with a double major in Speech Pathology and Audiology as well as French. She is currently completing her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) at Central Michigan University.
